Build Aid is a UK Registered Charity formed in February 2005 following the 2004 South East Asian tsunami.

We provide construction aid, free professional advice and construction management for rebuilding projects undertaken by community groups, NGOs and non-profit-making organisations.

We now also fund our own projects, following a number of generous donations from both private and corporate supporters and extensive research into local needs.

Now entering our fifth successful year, we are even more committed to providing both technical aid and funding for community projects around the world, particularly in Ethiopia, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Our two main fund-raising events of 2008 have now been completed and we are pleased to announce that over £45,000 was pledged during Morris Furniture’s Cannonball Run and Skydive events in Eastern Europe and Spain.

We are partnering with the UK and Eire branches of Operation Smile, an American Charity, to build a plastic surgery and burns unit at Jimma University, Ethiopia.

We are currently in talks with Lalghad Leprosy Hospital in Nepal with a view to assisting with the funding and construction management of a new ward and treatment centre. We hope to visit the unit in 2009 to undertake a full assessment.
