Update - September 2010

Haiti - Following the well publicised natural disaster and the tragic associated loss of life on Haiti in January 2010, BuildAid operatives undertook an evaluation and appraisal visit to Port-au-Prince from the 13th of March 2010. With the proceeds of funsdraising

from various events this year we plan to be building schools in Haiti beginning next year, in collabration with other charities and subject to funding, our own.

Lalgadh, Nepal - Works are still progressing well at this site, more information and the latest photos from Haiti are published monthly on the Charities facebook organisations page, why not visit and become a fan.

Jimma, Ethiopia - The procurement for Operation Smile's Comprehensive Healthcare Centre which is being developed in partnership with Jimma University Hospital and BuildAid are progressing well. We have now completed the building design, and following successful re-engineering to create a "future building" with a view to completing the technical design and tender process this month, in order for the instruction of site works to begin in the next 2 months.

Schools Programme - We are pleased to confirm that following the success in Sri Lanka, where we refurbished four schools (see What we've done), that we hope to extend the programme to Ethiopia and Haiti, and will be assessing suitable projects later in the year. This will be subject to obtaining funding of course.
